Project emphasis on social awareness raising in order to generate all social components in contributing the management of wastes as well as adding value to the wastes through promoting the use of wastes as households' additional income sources.

The project accomplished its set objectives. It targeted 12 villages within 3 districts (one district in Oudomxay province and two in Vientiane Capital). The training courses on waste management, and recycling were held for different agencies. There 36 community mobilizers were training and leading community activities e.g. facilitating student from different primaries and secondaries to clean up communities' space and surrounding their schools. Generated community fund to establish tanks for composing wastes for households' garden use as fertilizer and producing paper bags from used office papers as well as newspaper as additional income for poor households.

There have been 615 family members involved in the activities and more than 300 pupils and students learned how important is good environment and community health.
