Conservation of Mangroves Through Woodlots Establishment within the Lake Piso Basin Areas
Conservation of Mangroves Through Woodlots Establishment within the Lake Piso Basin Areas which seeks to develop the capacities of local communities in eliminating the impacts of land degradation in Lake Piso Water Basin areas. The project will also reduce the level of forest degradation in Cape Mount and it environs and contribute to the UN-REDD Initiative to which Liberia has signed on. In addition, the project will address the issue poverty reduction, environmental sustainability and food security. The being jointly funded by the GEF/UNDP/SGP and UNDP BCPR as a pilot project for the conservation margroves in the Lake Piso water Basin.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Knowledge transfer and capacity building based on personal involvement of local people are at the heart of this project and hence dissemination is an integral aspect of what is planned
