Improvement and Expansion of a Natonal Donkey Sancturay as a means of Controlling Enviornmental and Human Impacts in Antigua.
Improvement and Expansion of a Natonal Donkey Sancturay as a means of Controlling Enviornmental and Human Impacts in Antigua.
This project will significantly reduce the impact on the natural environment and human life (through road accidents) of wild donkeys. Wild donkeys have been contributing to the destruction of natural vegetation and soil compaction, and have caused serious accidents on roads and highways. By the end of the project there will be (i) an increase in public awareness and appreciation of the gravity of the problem caused by wild donkeys; (ii) the expansion of the donkey sanctuary; (iii) the approval of a national policy and management plan for donkeys; and (iv) the complete corralling of all wild donkeys currently estimated at 300 - 400.
