Every year the number of SGP project is increasing and so thus the operational issues and workload. On the other hand, managing project at the grassroots is a Herculean task in itself. The staff and grantee should be well aware of the project cycle which includes designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, review the project to match the local need without compromising the GEF focal area and operational programmes and develop exit strategy. The other responsibilities include reporting, knowledge management, information dissemination, resource generation, equitable resource distribution, help replicate the project initiative and finally safely exit the project. Thus a sound qualified team is essential to drive the project and their capacity should also be enhanced.
Thus the proejct aim to build local capacity by conducing and organising Learning cum review workshop, finacial management of grantees, trainings on participatory rural apprisal, social mobilisation, gender and social inclusion and proposal writing training. These trainings activities will be linked with GEF focal areas and operational programme.
