Project plans were not only successfully met but greatly exceeded the initial goals. On an eko farm of a size of 14,6 hectares was sequestrated 157,99 tons of CO2 (as opposed to previously planned 100 tonnes) what will positively influence the resistance of the area to climate change and increase the absorption of CO2. A total of more than 5500 plants were planted which also exceeded the expectations of 3300 pieces. Another 500 pieces of self-sown seedlings were saved from mowing through permaculture growing.
Project activities managed to create an environment of habitats whose total value is estimated at 150 000 USD (3 times the amount of the grant awarded). It is expected that the value will be increasing each year as the land involves orchards, wood and mixed vegetable gardens which are already bearing fruit and vegetable.
Trenches created to hold the rainwater produced a number of wetlands that have an invaluable impact on the whole microclimate of the eco farm in terms of recovery of the soil, air and moisture. As a result, around 10 wetlands of the area of 700 m2 were created during the project.
However, the greatest success of the project was the cooperation in the community, cohesion, joint search for solutions and application of professional knowledge, experience and natural talent. Community activities attracted attention from near and more remote areas and the number of association grew by 6 new members (now a total number of 40). 5 project participants learned to manipulate with the mini excavator up to such extent that the owner of the machine offered them a seasonal job. During the discussions, two participants gained experience of managing and coordinating a group of 30 people.
