Introduction of solar photovoltaic applications in the shepherd settlements along the touristic itineraries in the Albanian Alps, Thethi Region
The project will consist in providing a selection of different solar powered appliances to the shepherd settlements along the main touristic itineraries in the Thethi National Park.
Traditionally, summer settlements of shepherds are in flat areas and near natural springs that do not run dry during the summer. These same places are also the preferred camping places for hikers. This proximity creates the premise for a small trade of fresh local products as well as enhances the cultural exchange. By providing for some of the ?missing infrastructure?, the project is expected to improve the quality of living of the locals, promote the use of renewable energy and contribute to the improvement of the quality of the products.
The project will provide one PV panel, one small cooler operating with 12 volt, some LED lighting and one small battery.
