FSM: Restoration of Tiun Reefs Ecosytems perquisite to establishment of MPA/Sanctuary in Tiun Community of Parem Municpality.
The project aims to help protect, improve, and restore the conditions of Tiun reefs ecosystems. It will also protect endangered species like the Napoleon wrasse, turtle, and humped head parrot fish, trochus and many other edible marine lives such as sea cucumbers and other fish that are threatened by over harvesting and destructive fishing (dynamiting, using clorox, poaching and indiscriminate harvesting of marine lives). Other threats to the Tiun reefs identified are sedimentation, ocean pollutants, and invasive marine species such as the Crown of Thorns (COT).
