Encourage bamboo crop development in particular as a substitute for timber in view of Samoa's dwindling forestry resources. There are sixteen Farmers Coops for which METI acts as the support organization, in essence providing continuous management and technical training and constantly seeking funding opportunities for the Coop members to expand their individual farming operations.
