The aims of the project in saving the energy consumption were not only fully achieved, in some cases the results exceeded primary expectations. By exchanging classic bulbs for the new compact ones was the energy consumption reduced by 58 400 kWh per year which means a save of around 11 631 euro (price for 1 kWh = 0.199?). Insulation of apartment buildings, a change of the energy source in the Stefan Moyses High School, use of a more eco-friendly type of fuel (firewood, briquettes, pellets) and using power through solar photovoltaic managed to save 584 500 m3 of natural gas which is more than double of planned savings. As a result of all these changes, including composting of the biomass, a total of 192.48 tons of CO2 emissions was saved.
Project participants gained new skills and knowledge in the field of energetics and management of biological degradable waste (6 members of the Roma minority helped in the building of a storage space, assembled the machines, and were trained in the operation of briquetting lines).
Another positive aspect of the project was the spread of information about the possibilities of saving the energy costs through meetings, seminars and newsletters (around 5000 people were spoken to which is around 20% of the region).
