Experience sharing of Small Grants Programme Bulgaria
Justification
GEF SGP in Bulgaria completed 5 years of operation. Since its start 86 projects are co-financed amounting to over 3 mln USD. Financial co-financing of the projects is amounting to 3 mln USD and in-kind co-financing to 1,4 mln USD. Thus SGP Bulgaria portfolio reaches 7,4 mln USD. 33 projects are already completed and most of the rest are in its advanced phase of realization and already report results. Now the major task of SGP as a Programme is to find ways to up-scale and multiply the project results on regional and national levels. An important SGP task is also to identify approaches to influence local, regional and national policies for further fostering of project development in the 5 areas ? climate change, biodiversity protection, combating land degradation, protection of waters and POPs.
Each SGP project makes substantial efforts for dissemination of its experience and engaging other people to apply its good practices. However it is important to demonstrate SGP success jointly and to find an attractive way so they reach wider group of stakeholders and decision makers, as well as citizen of the country. This project is a knowledge management project within SGP aiming at the their wide application in the practices in Bulgaria.
