Mangrove planting and swamp resource management project
The aim of the project is to restore the mangrove vegetation in the main village river where it had undergone degradation stemming from both human activities and climatic effects. The project activities involved the collection, propagation and planting of mangroves, training on the management of mangroves and undertaking surveillance activities to protect the young seedlings.

Gender Focus
More than 50% of the CBO membership are women and the project therefore has a gender focus towards women. Women would also be the direct beneficiaries of the project outcomes because they depend on the exploitation of the mangrove resources for their livelihoods
Notable Community Participation
The project was implemented by a local CBO of the area and involved the active participation of the local community. The membership of the CBO is drawn entirely from the village.
