Promotion of beekeeping for biodiversity conservation and improved livelihoods.
The project sought to promote sustainable biodiversity conservation through beekeeping. In addition, the project also sought to increase the bee population and increase crop pollination so as to produce more viable seeds. By increasing the numbers and varieties of seeds generated within the ecosystem, the biodiversity of the ecosystem itself wiould increase thus enabling it to support more diversified and richer forms of life.

Capacity - Building Component
The bulk of project activities involved runnig a series of trainig programmes all designed to build the capacites of the project beneficiaries. This aspect of the project was also designed to ensure the sustainability of the project once SGP funding ceases.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The focus of this project was biodiversity conservation through beepeeping geared towards improving the livelihoods of the project beneficiaries. The project targeted to raise the income levels of 100 beneficiaries through beekeeping activities.
