WATER FOR LIFE
The project?s principle goal is to promote environmental literacy, environment-friendly attitudes, and environmental activism among the general public leading to sustainable use of potable water resources. The project will also improve popular access to clean water and to improving water quality in internationally significant water bodies. The project will pursue the following objectives:
Encouraging a active attitude among the general public towards promoting sustainable use of water resources, and fostering responsible public attitudes, initiative and joint action in this area at the grassroots level; .
Promoting joint public action on improving and cleaning the water springs;
Improving public access to clean drinking water;
Improving access to information and building public awareness about local environmental problems and solutions.
In addition to the above objectives, the project will establish steering groups within the church communities to monitor water quality, and coordinate the maintenance of the water springs. It will also strengthen collaboration at the regional level between governmental and nongovernmental organizations in seeking joint responses to local environmental concerns.
