Biodiversity conservation and increase production in low landscapes through provision of 30 bee-hives to 15 local farmers of Kabodiyon district
The main goal of the project is to conservation and rehabilitation of agro-biodiversity through development of bee-keeping in rural households of Kabodiyan district.
Project activities: 1.Contact meetings with local communities, local farmers, local and district administrations with a purpose to present the project and discuss co-finance and co-implementation of the project; to set up selection criteria in order to identify 15 local farmers who will received project inputs; 2.Identification and selection of 15 local farmers (project beneficiaries) amongst local farmers - members of N. Khisrva, Yangi-uyl, Yangi-obod and Khudoikulov jamoat of Kabodiyan district;3.Elaboration and conduction of one 3-days training on bee keeping and development for project beneficiaries including local farmers and bee-keepers; 4.Procurement and delivery of necessary bee-keeping items: 2 bee-hives/ per farm, 15 sets of tools, devices, uniform, medicines, etc; 5.Organize and undertake one cross-visit to Muminobod district in order to exchange local beekeeping experiences and lessons learnt as well as enhance the relationship between west and east farmers dealing with bee-keeping;6.Provision of 10kg of quality seeds of alfa-alfa to local farmer to grow on their lands by NGO ?Shifo? which is a project partner. 7.Organization and participation of local farmers in the honey fairs held in the district and regional levels;8.Develop, publish and distribute some 250 booklets and brochures on the beekeeping to local farmers targeted;
