The project plans to enclose an area of 150 hectares of Genta Mountain with the integration of using various enriching biological (multi-purpose tree plantation) and physical soil conservation measures so as to halt the over flooding and degradation of mount Genta and siltation on Lake Chamo in a sustainable way through creating and building awareness for 560 household heads of Genta maiche on the preservation of degraded land and physical soil conservation, constructing of terraces and various necessary physical conservation practices (ibrons, micro-basins, check dams ?), planting of multi-purpose trees on degraded land, and establishment of community based organization in Genta-Maiche qebele.
