ECOSYSTEM MANAGEMENT OF THE NORTH COASTAL SHORE OF BAYSHORE ROAD FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE MARINE RESOURCES
The emphasis of the proposed project will concentrate on the degraded environment from human practices and the introduction of external elements. For a number of years there has been a lack of education on the importance of keeping a clean environment and understanding the correlation with a healthy marine environment. Further emphasis is placed on the impact of negative actions on the coastal environment, the lack of enforcement of the offenders and the lack of infrastructure to deal with proper waste management.
The planning grant will develop a project which will address the following in the loca fishing village l community of West End, Grand Bahama Island:
?Remediation of the degraded coastal environment
?Improved management of the coastal zone areas ? correcting improper solid waste management Provide education and training of residents and fisherman to address issues related to the management of the Coastal Zone area affected.
