PROVDING SOLAR ENERGY FOR BOMAH HOSPITAL IN FOYIA LOFA COUNTY
The project objective is to prioritize the use of clean and environmentally friendly source of electricity beginning with Boimah Clinic, in order to avoid the emission of Global Warming Gases.
The activities of this project will be:
a) Visit Bomah Clinic and assess and do the appropriate required design.
b) Acquire the adequate Solar Equipments and materials.
c) To acquire and install the required solar equipments and materials.
d) Train responsible local staffs and community members that will maintain the system for sustainability.
e) Commission and turn over the system to the community members and staffs.
Inputs / Resources
a) At this very preliminary stage only rough calculations can be made on the CO2 avoidance by the solar energy power. The current practice of diesel gen-sets at Boimah Clinic has been taken as a basis for the calculations below.

Notable Community Participation
An in-depth consultation has already taken place, with discussions beginning in 2010 with community and stakeholders representative. This proposal has evolved as a direct result of that consultation process and a pre-project development visit which was undertaken from October by the NC.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Knowledge transfer and capacity building based on personal involvement of local people are at the heart of this project and hence dissemination is an integral aspect of what is planned.
