The NGO intends to make a significant contribution to the ongoing efforts of Ongi river bank development and ecosystem rehabilitation in that particular area against threats of desertification and soil depletion by creating an environment that better suits to community livelihoods improvement and supports river flow and river bank green mass with establishment of a large community owned sea buckthorn plantation.

Capacity - Building Component
The NGO has done considerable work to protect the environment and gained tangible experience. They have planted 10 types of trees in a 7.5-hectare fenced area. Their work resulted in plant growth in the nearby area and the recovery of dried springs. It also increased the flow of the Ongi River. Under the project, the NGO will combat desertification by planting fruit trees in the fenced area.
