Integrity restoration and efficiency improvement of the forest protection zones of the Balchik municipality in order to enlarge the cultivation areas and enhance soil fertility are the main objectives of this project. The subsequent environmental changes would provide better ecosystems interaction and functioning. Proper forest management under the supervision of the local authorities outcomes with reduction of soil degradation and wood devastation. The carbon metabolism would be improved. Good forestry practice stabilizes wood degradation and improves agricultural activities. Restoration of fifty one dka of formerly destroyed protection zones and proper structural and functional management of additional 244 dka is planned. Forest protection zones are to be restored in the Senokos and Carvuna villages. Improvement activities are scheduled to the Bobina village and the town of Balchik with the following GPS parameters:

The ?Professionalism for health and ecology ?Association, the state Hunting Unit of Balchik, the owners and land benefactors from the region are involved in the management activities. Educational materials would be distributed among local schools. Teachers and pupils would be motivated to take part in the management activities and forest protection zones functionality improvement.
