Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
At this moment, the community suffers heavily from garbage/waste that is illegally being dumped on street corners. Usually, this is done by community members itself. This project will invest in awareness and promotion material to make sure that the community will be aware of the effects on their health and the environment.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Public awareness is crucial in this project. Flyers and banners have been produced, explaining this project, and also the objective.
It helps that the Stichting Samarja (the grantee) is well known in Suriname for their wast separation initiatives (PET bottles), so they already have some public exposure in Suriname.
