FRESH CREEK MARINE RESTORATION AND EDUCATION
The planning grant will prepare a project for the Fresh Creek in Andros which will address the following in a comprehesive way, inclusive of providing an educational component, awareness and capacity development.
The project activities will clean up the Fresh Creek while address the issue of invasive alien species along the shorelines of the creek. Specific items to be addressed are as follows:
1. Accumulated waste materials in the marine environment of Fresh Creek.
2. Spread of the Casuarina / Australian pine tree along the shoreline of the creek.
3. Spread of the Malaleuca
4. Lack of local education regarding the marine environment
