ART & CONSERVATION- TAGHBOOSTAN
ART & CONSERVATION- TAGHBOOSTAN
Women community of Tagh Boostan Village which was formed in a former GEF Small Grants Programme named ?Green paths of Tagh Boostan? has been actively involved in conservation activities implemented in the area since primary project was completed. However, poor socio-economic situation in the area and strong barriers for social involvement of females in the society still keeps them away from social activities and ignores their capabilities. This project aims to empower local women to use their abilities to produce traditional handicrafts generating income for women and getting them involved in social activities.

Main activities of the project include:
-Providing training for local women to produce high quality traditional handicrafts
-Providing raw material for women community from different resources including local authorities and market
-Establish a local development fund to support handicraft production or women owned small businesses
-Setting up a network to market and sell the products to tourist who visit Green Paths of Tagh Boostan
-Facilitating relationship between women community in Tagh Boostan and other women communities in Small Grants Programme projects in the country
