RURAL RENEWABLE ENERGY IN ARMARDEH REGION-KURDISTAN
A major threat to Oak forest in Kurdistan is the fuel wood consumption and the illegal border trading of fuel. Therefore this project is trying to provide an alternative to fuel wood consumption and the project activities are:
?Selected villages of Armardeh will be chosen to implement a combination of rural renewable energy technologies to replace the fuel wood consumption
?Linkage with previous GEF SGP Projects on renewable energies in Kurdistan
?A baseline will be prepared at micro level on required information for an optimized combination of technologies
?Quarterly newsletter will be prepared by the project
?Lessons learned booklet and a short documentary will be produced
?Midterm participatory review and a final workshop will be conducted
