Development of Demonstration Plot The Settled Garden Without Forest Fire Prevention Strategy of Lamandau River Wildlife and Increased Community’s Income Village Babual Tempayung Baboti, Central Kalimantan
GOAL : In the year 2013, Development of demonstration plots on Mixed Permanent No Burning Farm becomes prevention strategy of Lamandau River Wildlife Reserve forest fire and economic income in Tempayung and Babual Baboti Village, Central Kalimantan Province is enhanced.

Objective 1 : Land clearing by slash and burn method to open agricultural /plantation area is reduced trough agricultural development based on no burning- rubber cultivation in Tempayung and Babual Baboti villages as target villages.
Indicator :
1. In October 2012, Rubber Farmer groups are formed in the two target villages.
2. In January 2013, 50% of the farmers from two target villages who has participated in rubber cultivation training will practice development methods of rubber cultivation.
3. Previously 202 farmer households are recorded as shifting farmers and rubber farmers.
Activities :
1. Conduct one training, which is a cultivation and maintenance training of rubber plant in area of mixed garden system for rubber farmers in two target villages for 3 days in Tempayung village hall and in the demonstration plots of mixed garden.
2. Conduct mentoring/facilitation to groups of rubber farmers and manager of mixed permanent no burning farm once in every 3 months in the village to discuss the development of demonstration plots management and agricultural activities based on rubber cultivation.

Objective 2 : Marketing opportunities for agricultural products or based on rubber cultivation plantation as measurement to generate income at the two target villages are created.
Indicator :
1. In May 2013, there are forms of promotional activities of agricultural/plantation products that are agreed upon and known by community in one of the target villages, especially promotion on latex marketing.
2. In July 2013, there is a marketing measurement of latex product that is managed by farmers group based on agreement of rubber farmers community and village governments in one of the target villages
Activities :
1. Encourage the formation of rubber farmers? groups in the two target villages and the practices of rubber cultivation.
2. Conduct a training on analysis of product management and marketing promotion of agricultural product based on rubber cultivation where farmers from the two target villages participated for 2 days. The participants expected to attend the training come from 20% of target farmers (40 household) in minimum.
EXPECTED OUTPUT
1. In July 2013, There is a group of farmers community in one of target villages who is able to manage the marketing of agricultural product based on rubber in a sustainable manner.
2. In September 2013, 50% (100 households) of 201 farmers households in Tempayung and Babual Baboti villages develop the technology of based on rubber, mixed permanent no burning farming demonstration plot.
3. Seven families (3.5%) of 201 households that still practice shifting and slash and burn method to clear the land for agriculture. In September 2013, (50% = 4 KK) of them are no longer practicing slash and burn method to clear the land for agriculture both in the village or inside or adjacent to the boundaries of Lamandau River Wildlife Reserve.
PARTICIPANTS AND / OR PROJECT BENEFICIARIES
Direct : Currently only 201 households are recorded as shifting farmers and rubber farmers in Tempayung Village and Babual Baboti Village as target beneficiaries. One household has died in 2010.
Indirect : Farmers of the village adjacent to the 2 target villages, businessmen/market player as well as farmers of the village adjacent to Lamandau River Wildlife Reserve.
