The project aims to rehabilitate and conserve environment of Finchawa 100ha of land so that the siltation problem of Lake Hawassa and its biodiversity is tackled and livelihood is improved through enhancing the capacity of the community; rehabilitating degraded hillsides, grazing lands, and gullies; availing additional source of cattle food and feed; reduced grazing over the degraded pieces of land; creating alternative livelihood and income generating sources as well as utilizing of energy saving stoves to reduce pressure on natural resource.
