The project aims to establish improved, self sustaining and integrated municipal solid waste management system for better environmental protection, create sustainable job opportunities associated with formal municipal solid waste management in the areas of waste collection, separation as well as recycling/reusing through improving the awareness of the community about integrated solid waste management strategies, establishing integrated and regular door to door solid waste collection, separation and recycling/reusing system for income generation, creating alternative income sources for those community members working in the areas of solid waste collection, separation, composting and recycling/reusing.
