Enhancing Integrated Ecosystem Management in Lake Hawassa Catchment
The project aims to contribute to environmental sustainability and improvement of livelihood security for households which are dependent on Lake Hawassa and its surrounding ecosystem through introduction and promotion of sustainable land and natural resource management practices; developing mechanisms to mitigate pollution of the lake; identifying and promoting alternative income generating opportunities; identifying and promoting fuel energy saving technologies for the target communities and thereby easing heavy pressure/ dependence on the natural resource.
