the rehabilitation of the stone cutting area through the increase of the vegetation cover and planting of medicinal and indigenous plants.
The objective is to tackle soil erosion and degradation in the agricultural and pastoral lands in Adh Dhariyya by introducing efficient, effective, and up-to date water harvesting and soil preservation techniques for watersheds.
The main project activities are: form a project committee, conduct field surveys, prepares maps, set an action plan, and field visits. Rehabilitate rangeland (of 100 dunum) near the watershed, plain fields on the lower side of the watershed (70 meters of gully). Plant 50 dunum with field crops by using 750 kg of seeds. Plant trees on 10 dunum out of 200 seedlings. Plant 40 dunum with pastoral plants by using 1000 seedlings. Construct retaining wall near the watersheds of 800 m2. Place 150 m2 of rock blocks in the plains adjacent to the watersheds. Rehabilitate 70 m2 of water tracks.
Bury the water track and level the ground after intervention, and construct water cisterns of ?80-m3 ?.
In addition to that, develop the capacity through conducting two training courses for 40 people on sustainable land management, water harvesting and soil preservation techniques and methodologies. Edit and publish a booklet on good agricultural practices.
