CONSERVATION OF NGANGU HILL – A SPIRITUAL SITE FOR PILGRIMS TOURISM DEVELOPMENT PROJECT – BY PROMOTING SPIRITUAL TOURISM WHILE CONSERVING THE ENVIRONMENT;
CONTEXT
Mue Mazingira group was supported to plant trees in Ngangu hill in the year 2006. Ngangu hill is used by Catholic Christian during Easter season as a mountain for prayers and remembering the Jesus Crucified. After tree planting the area has become attractive that the Mue Mazingira group and the church want to use the area fro spiritual tourism. The group will charge those visiting the area for community income.
PROJECT PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Promote spiritual tourism while conserving the Environment.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
? Rehabilitation of the 1Km rout to the top of Ngangu hill
? Renovation of the cross and 14 stations
? Construction of shade for pilgrims and tourist while praying and relaxing
? Preparations of brochure foe publicity
? Landscaping and tree planting in 3 hectors of bare land
