GREEN JOBS THROUGH EMPOWERMENT OF MARGINALIZED STREET CHILDREN AND WOMEN BY PRODUCING ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY BAGS WITH CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENDANGERED SPECIES THEMES (GREEN BAGS)
The Charity of Emam Ali Society is an active group helping the street children and their mothers or women headed houshoulds through three established Khaneh Elm (The to get trained in order to leave the street jobs. Through this project supported by GEF SGP environment friendly bags will be produced advocating climate change and endangered animals themes which not only would help consume less plastic bags but will also help empower the marginalized children and women headed households. A series of trainings will held for the target groups and also will become familiar with art for conservation. The group has 5000 volunteer members and this project will take advantage of this large network.

Project activities include:

?Utilizing the existing three established House of Science and Knowledge

?Building on the trust between the users of these houses for training

?Working with 40 childeren at a time in a 6 month period
?Training on climate change and endangered animal themes to be designed for bags

?Producing the Environmental friendly bags with children and the women

?Through an empowerment cycle the bags will be marketed and sold for cofounding and turning the fund into a revolving activity

?The bags will be marketed in major department stores for income generation as well as awareness raising in these concepts

?3500 bags will be produced in a 6 month cycle replacing approximately 350,000 plastic bags

?This process will be revolving and will be repeated twice a year.
