“Wilderness in the city”.
“Wilderness in the city”.
The main problem with environmental, economic and social impacts in urban environment is extensive modification of land structure, which is causing decline, fragmentation and degradation of nature biotype. The aim of the project is to demonstrate the protection of valuable natural areas in intensively built-up towns through development and implementation of local legislation (spatial plans) in participative process, based on the partnership of citizens and the municipality. Model territory will be park Lenice in Zvolen, territory directly in settled area with high biodiversity, which will be protected and fully used after the termination of the project. The protection of environment in towns on basis of partnership between local residents is one of the sustainable ways used to finance the protection of environment on urban level. These nature localities stimulate visits of local people and tourists and may generate an income for local community. Part of the project is also a creation and promotion of mechanisms to generate an income from the nature localities in the town without degradation of environment
