“Re-introducing traditional and sustainable management of orchards”
“Re-introducing traditional and sustainable management of orchards”
The goal of the project is to re-introduce the traditional management of orchards in the ecosystem of White Carpathians, resulting in increased yield of fruits, as well as maintenance and increase of biodiversity. The aim is to renew the agricultural eco-system in Biele Karpaty through elimination of expanded bushes, planting new trees and managing grass. Sustainable process ensures that the design of the garden will be based on natural and perma-cultural principals. Through the participation of local residents into the creation of fruit gardens on their properties, they can expand their opportunities of self-supplying of fruits. Part of the project is also the aim to increase capacity of local communities and civil associations for solving the global environment problems through establishment of community organization connected with towns and local responsible organs.
