“Protection of forest villages by preserving Cergov forest”
The goal of the project is to introduce a management without any intervention in Cergov forest, which will improve the biodiversity and water retention capacity of the forest, thus preventing floods in the foret villages. The protection of the village Cergov is necessary due to three basic functions of forests: flood-protection, and protection of biodiversity and of climate. The aim is to create 200 ha of territories without intervention, through creation of private and state reservations. The monitoring of the current protected territories will be held in partnership with the villages situated at the foot of mountain. The proposal of the project is to use these forests for creation of new local economy, based on development of knowledge eco-tourisms, including the new tourists footpath without intervention the biodiversity.
