Traditional and unsustainable irrigation methods account for one of the major problems in Justino Lopes farming community, located in Santiago Island. Drip irrigation systems have been promoted, but not widely implemented. The association plans to install a drip irrigation system in 2 ha of land, with the main purpose to conserve water, increase crop yield and increase income of family beneficiaries.
