Mato Correia village is located northeast of the county of S. Miguel, in Santiago Island. The community also borders the Parque Natural de Serra Malagueta. Similar to other local farm communities in Cape Verde, it also suffers from soil erosion problems. To address the issue the association will promote mechanical and biological interventions, namely anti-erosion terraces and planting fruit trees on slopping areas.
