ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE PESTICIDES CONTAINING PERSISTENT ORGANIC POLLUTANTS
The main goals of this project are:
- Disposal of obsolete pesticides containing POPs in an environmentally sound manner as the implementation of the Stockholm Convention;
- The creation of technical and institutional capacity at the Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Complex for treatment and disposal of toxic industrial wastes of Gomel Region" for further environmentally safe disposal at the facility are stocks of obsolete pesticides

To achieve these goals following objectives need to be addressed:
1. Extract from Petrikov disposal, repackaging and transportation to the MUE "Complex for treatment and disposal of toxic industrial wastes Gomel region" 20 tons of obsolete pesticides containing persistent organic pollutants.
2. Contractor selection, contract and paperwork for utilization of obsolete pesticides containing persistent organic pollutants, by high-temperature incineration.
3. Preparation of obsolete pesticides containing persistent organic pollutants to disposal
4. Environmentally safe disposal of obsolete pesticides containing persistent organic pollutants
