DOLPHIN HEAD LOCAL FORESTRY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
DOLPHIN HEAD LOCAL FORESTRY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Dolphin Head is a premier site of endemism in Jamaica. The Forest Reserve has been under threat of deforestation for over two decades. The chief threats include conversion to agriculture by subsistence and ?illegal crop?, fires and hurricanes.
The project seeks to increase tree cover in forest and community and local biodiversity, increased forest and environmental awareness among students and community members, expand livelihood options in communities and to bring about greater institutional capacity and financial sustainability of the DHLFMC
