Problem Statement

Mbingu catholic Health Centre is located in the remote off grid village. It offers very important service to people around the village particularly delivery services to the women. The important of the Mbingu Health Centre stems from the fact that the next medical facility is at Ifakara, 57 kms. away. during rainy season, the road is hardly usable. Services at the health Centre are crippled by lack of reliable power. The Health centre is not connectto the national grid electricity. it is supplied electricity from the diesel generator. The electricity from the diesel generator is supplied from 7.00pm toll 10.00pm. Due to high cost of running the generator, the power cannot be supplied 24 hours as it is needed. Some days, there is no electricity at all. Reliable power will improve life-serving services of caesarian section to the delivery of obstructive cases and oxygen provision to the children with difficulty in breathing due to servere illness like pheumonia.

Project objective is to reduce carbon emissions through adoption of solar photovoltaic generator at Mbingu Health centre
