Building capacity of Mhezi and Mshewa Ward rural community for Reduction of CO2 emmissions
Problem Definition:
Arguably, the biggest driver of deforestation in Tanzania rural areas is the harvesting of wood for fuel consumption. Populations in rural areas rely heavily onf irewood for the energy (primarily for cooking) in Tanzania. Around 91% of all energy consumed is woodfuel. Miombo woodland being the source of 60-70% of the annual consumption. (Monela et al., 1993)
The main objective is to build capacity of Mhezi and Mshewa ward rural community to reduce Co2 emissions and fuel wood consumption through the use of Mkombozi fuel Efficient Stove in Same District, Kilimanjaro Region
