Forage Production and Animal Fattening for Livelihood Improvement in Sayo Adami Kebele and its Implication on Sustainability of GG 1 dam
The project aims to promote plantation of various plant species of animal fodder to address the different problems and threats that have contributed to reduced SEPL resilience, especially regarding ecosystem protection and biodiversity conservation in Sayo Adami kebele of GG 1 catchment through contribution to the livelihood improvement of 200 (170 men and 30 women) CBO members by at least 25% through promotion of integrated conservation and development strategies like plantation of multipurpose plants and animal fattening; minimizing communities? dependence on the environment for their livelihood at least by 25%, and thereby contribute to improving biodiversity conservation and restoration of degraded lands that lead to sustaining the lifespan of GG 1 dam; and contribution to institutional capacity building and networking of the CBO with other partners for the promotion of integrated landscape management and ensuring SEPL resilience.
