Integrated Approach for Natural Resources Conservation: The Case of Energy Efficient Stove Production and Marketing, Multipurpose Plant Nursery Establishment for Afforestation, Animal Feed Production and fattening
The project aims to promote integrated natural resource conservation for addressing the environmental and socio-economic threats disclosed in the project document, and to ultimately contribute to enhancing the SEPL resilience in Kara Goraa Kebele of GG 1 catchment through contributing to the livelihood improvement of 200 (180 Men and 20 women) CBO members by way of promoting integrated conservation and development strategies like plantation of multipurpose plants and animal fattening; minimizing communities? dependence on the environment for their livelihood at least by 25%, and thereby contribute to improving biodiversity conservation and restoration of degraded lands that lead to sustaining the lifespan of GG 1 dam; and contributing to institutional capacity building of the CBO and its networking with other partners for the promotion of integrated landscape management and ensuring SEPL resilience.
