General Objective: Contribute to the strengthening of compliance with fishing rules in Rio Cacheu
Specific Objectives: (i) Develop a strategy for monitoring sustainable, (ii) promoting the dissemination of information on responsible fishing, (iii) contribute to the development of income generating activities environmentally friendly
Project Results: (i) Strategy of fishery monitoring is available, (ii) the scheduled activities of the Strategy are carried, fulfilling the required procedure, (iii) poster and pamphlets about the fishing rules and stock situation of fish river Cacheu are developed and disseminated in Park?s tabancas, (iv) Minutes of results of radio programs are available, (v) code of the management of cash credit is available, along with credit cards, list of activities to be funded with the full description of activities, (vi) credit given, (vii) the credit refunded 110%, (viii) reimbursement used and reset to 110%, (ix) the credit box completed at least 4 cycles of credit during the lifetime of the project, (x) the number of violations to the rules of fishing decreases, (xi) the amount available of some species of fish in the river increases
Project Principal Activities: (i) to develop a strategy for participatory monitoring of fishermen, (ii) to Prepare a schedule of inspection, (iii) to carry out surveillance missions defined in the calendar, (iv) Dissemination of the traditional and Park fishing rules in the PNTC, (v) radio debates which will also discuss issues such as the situation of stocks fish and disseminate the results of surveillance missions, (vi) financial management of sustainable participation of fishermen in surveillance missions, (vii) development management code of cash credit, (viii) preparation of sheets and credit repayment and as security measures, (ix) identification of income generating activities and financing of specific conditions, (x) application of refund on new income generating activities, (xi) preparation of quarterly surveillance participatory diagnosis, (xii) development of diagnostic use quarterly cash credit, (xiii) the distribution of pamphlets and posters with the rules of fishing in the park at all tabancas
