Contribuição das escolas do Parque Nacional das Lagoas de Cufada para a gestão florestal
General Objective: Promote with children, parents and teachers to sustainable management of forests PNLC
Specific Objectives: (i) Planting trees in degraded forest areas, (ii) Reducing deforestation, (iii) comercal valuation of non-timber products
Project Results: (i) The 5 forest nurseries have created a team formed that takes care of its maintenance successfully, Each school makes the repopulation of 2500 plants (500 plants per species), totaling 12,500 plants in degraded areas list of species inventoried by the schools and its importance, available, (iii) Trees planted survive at a rate of at least 90% by the end of the project, (iv) At least 3 non-timber products are processed and marketed keeps its row of successfully increasing in at least 10% of the income of the beneficiary
Project Principal Activities: (i) a nursery of forest trees is created in five schools, (ii) teachers and students are trained in techniques of nursery of forest trees, (iii) collection of seeds of five species, (v) preparation of seedlings (500 plants per species), (vi) monitoring of seedlings, (vii) transplantation of seedlings, (viii) diagnostic of the several phases of nursery forest trees, (ix) diagnosis of transplant of the trees, (x) Radio debates on the laws of exploitation and management of forest resources, the importance ecologist, social, cultural and economic forest, the park forest management , forest management conducted by the park and the population, the situation of forest resources in the park the evolution of the management of forest resources (and future consequences), (xi) survey by students and teachers of some species of forest park and understanding of its usefulness ecological, social, cultural and economic (and status), (xii) training techniques in the processing and marketing of at least 3 non-timber products
