CONTEXT;
Roots and Shoot tree planting group was established in 1990 and is among the oldest tree nurseries in Moshi which were established by community members. This group has a tree nursery as a source of income for the group members. The group has been supporting other community members with tree seedlings. The group is requesting for support since the profit from tree planting comes very slow in a way that they find it difficult to run the tree nursery though at the moment they are working on voluntary bases.


PROJECT PRIMARY OBJECTIVES;

To Promote tree nursery activities and to plant trees in Uru villagers


PROJECT SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:

? To create source of income for the group members

? To increase tree planting activities.



PROJECT OUTPUTS:

? Ten thousand tree seedlings of different species will be grown around in the nursery and will be planted

PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

? Expanding tree nursery and tree planting activities in Uru North
? Trees will be planted on water sources and will be guided by Pangani basin office

PROJECT BENEFITS:

? Increase tree planting activities expanded
? Plant trees in water shed areas identified by Pangani basin.
? Increase income of the group members
