GOAL
Ecosystem Conservation of Waloindi Village?s Area through Historical and Cultural-Based Ecotourism.

OBJECTIVE
Objective 1 : The establishment of a monitoring group on Conservation of Natural Resources in Waloindi Village.
Indicators :
1. A memorandum of understanding in the village about the importance of protecting the sustainability of natural resources.
2. An agreement from community representative, village government, the representative group of Waloindi village for the formation of monitoring organization of natural resources? conservation in Waloindi village.
3. One monitoring group of natural resources? conservation in Waloindi village.
4. Routine monitoring schedule of natural resources? conservation in Waloindi village.
Activities :
1. One (1) village meeting with the head of village, members of BPD (village council), religious leaders, community leaders, women leaders, youth leaders as many as 25 people to discuss the importance of conserving the natural resources of Waloindi Village. This activity will be facilitated by Binongko Fishermen's Forum in collaboration with Wakatobi National Park as resource persons (second weeks after budget disbursement).
2. One (1) dissemination meeting to the people of Waloindi village about the importance of conserving natural resources with 25 participants, from Waloindi community figures including the head of village, member of village councils, religious leaders, traditional leaders, youth leaders, women leaders.
3. One consensus-based decision making on the formation of Natural Resources Monitoring Group in Walondi Village.
4. Routine monitoring carried out by monitoring group 2 times per month in the coastal area of Waloindi village.

Objective 2 : Development of village ecotourism and increase potential of products made from woven fabrics and pandanus.
Indicators :
1. a map/data of tourism objects in Waloindi village.
2. a memorandum of understanding between people, village government, religious leaders, traditional leaders, women leaders on ecotourism development in Waloindi village.
3. a group of community organizations to manage ecotourism village.
4. a minimum of 4 souvenir products made from woven fabric or pandanus.
5. an outlet to market handicraft products in Waloindi village.
Activities :
1. Identification and / document tourism objects in Waloindi village by 5 people from community groups.
2. Village meetings in Waloindi to develop people?s understanding of ecotourism with 25 participants.
3. Consensus decision making with head of village, BPD members, religious leaders, community leaders, women leaders, youth leaders, as many as 25 people for the formation of village-based ecotourism management group.
4. One (1) training to increase capacity of organizing/bookkeeping and financial of the village-based ecotourism management with 25 participants from Waloindi village.
5. Identification, surveys, production and marketing are carried out by 2 person from local working team.
The first to fifth activities will be implemented in stages according to the sequence for 2 weeks in Waloindi Village, Togo Binongko District.
6. The community revolving fund of Waloindi village.

Objective 3 : Planting of mangrove, bintangor (Calophyllum austrocoriacium) and ketapang (Terminalia catappa) seedlings in the area of Waloindi village.
Indicators :
1. The presence of 1,000 mangrove, bintangor (Calophyllum austrocoriacium) and ketapang (Terminalia catappa) seedlings around the planting site.
2. Planting sites of the mangrof, bintangor (Calophyllum austrocoriacium) and ketapang (Terminalia catappa) as long as 1 (one) km.
3. One (1) unit of bintangor (Calophyllum austrocoriacium) and ketapang (Terminalia catappa) nursery house.
Activities :
1. The construction of a nursery house in Waloindi village.
2. Propagation of a thousand mangrove, bintangor (Calophyllum austrocoriacium) and ketapang (Terminalia catappa) seedlings in Waloindi village.
3. Planting of mangrove, bintangor (Calophyllum austrocoriacium) and ketapang (Terminalia catappa)as many as 1000 seedlings along 1 km in the coastal area of Waloindi village.
4. Maintenance of a thousand seedlings of mangrove, bintangor (Calophyllum austrocoriacium) and ketapang (Terminalia catappa) after planting by involving 10 people from Waloindi village.
This activity will be implemented in stages according to the sequence of activities, starting from the construction of nursery house, seedlings propagation, planting and maintenance for 5 (five) months in Waloindi Village, Togo Binongko District.

Objective 4 : Monitoring and Evaluation
Indicators :
1. Project activities of Binongko Fishermen's Forum on Ecosystem Conservation of Waloindi Village?s Area through Historical and Cultural Based Ecotourism funded by the GEF
2. Implementation of Binongko Fishermen's Forum project activities on Ecosystem Conservation of Waloindi Village?s Area through Historical and Cultural Based Ecotourism funded by the GEF
Activities :
1. Two times monitoring by program?s person in charge in the middle and end of the program in Waloindi Village, Togo Binongko District
2. One activities? evaluation by program?s esponsible person penanggung jawab in the middle of the ongoing program in Waloindi Village, Togo Binongko District

EXPECTED OUTPUT
People can understand and know the importance of conserving natural resources
2. Threats of reef bombing and cyanide fishing as pressures from fishermen outside Wakatobi could be solved
3. Documentation of cultural values and historical sites of Waloindi Village
4. Waloindi village become one of the World Tourism destination villages
5. Waloindi village become an area of green forest

Participants and/or Project Beneficiaries
Direct : 100 people of Waloindi village comprising of 80 male and 20 female in 50 head of households, 8 Foneb staff comprising of 5 men from the village, 1 person from Rukuwa Regency and 2 people from Palahidu Regency.
Indirect : 1,150 people, comprising of 584 male and 566 female in 267 head of households.
