Revival of the deserted settlements through local photovoltaic electrification of domestic need for rural people of Jambyl Oblast on the example of “Malye Kamkaly” and Moinkum villages
In Moyinkum district of Zhambyl area there are a dozen of settlements where there is no centralized engine power supply, which is caused by remoteness from electricity infrastructure, as well as the small number of residents living in those remote areas.
Lack of electricity supply has a negative impact on the social and economic conditions of the communities, creating barriers to ensure their basic needs in lighting. On the other hand, due to lack of electricity people have to use gasoline generators. Combustion of liquid fuels in these generators is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions in these remote villages.

The project aims at demonstration of efficiency of photovoltaic systems as a source of electricity for the local power supply in remote areas of Zhambyl are on the sample of Kamkaly and Moyynkum settlements to ensure basic electricity needs for LCs and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
