Both men and women will be partners in the project activities. Bank linkages for micro credit will be created for the women SHGs to develop small scale micro enterprises. Women participation and representation in village level institutions will be ensured. Dairy farming will be established for poor and women headed families. The local people will enhance livelihood options through poverty reduction and livelihood improvement activities.

Links will be established with/among existing financial and development institutions namely rural development, Forest, Fisheries and Revenue departments for sustainable development of these villages. Village Level Institutions (VLIs) will be formed and developed jointly with the village panchayat (local government) in order to ensure transparent and participatory ways of conducting the activities. They will ensure proper implementation of activities as per the objectives.

The main aim of the project is to restore degraded mangroves and develop mechanisms for sustainable manage healthy mangroves through community participation and to improve the livelihoods of dependent community. Micro enterprise will be developed as subsidiary livelihood options in the villages. An integrated approach will be considered for planning mangrove forest rehabilitation and livelihood enhancement which will increase the cash flow in the village. Sustainable village mangrove conservation council will be established in Sorlagondi.

Training on income generation activities will be conducted and all these activities will be done through men and women SHGs. Exposure visits will be organized for knowledge development and knowledge sharing of the community. Awareness will be generated in 50,000 people on the importance of restoration and management of mangroves for enhanced fishery resources and for disaster reduction.

Workshops, seminars will be organized for PRI, farmer groups, fishermen group and women group during the project. Exposure visits to Vijaya Diary and SIFT Kakinada will be conducted. Community meetings will be organized in the villages and micro plans will be drawn. Resource person from NGO will provide training to the community in leadership skills, SHG formation & accounting and micro- enterprises development.

Youth and women will be involved in the designing and decision making of the project.
