Project Objectives:
The Project aims to enhance and scale up the functioning of the KTSHG consisting tribal and local communities that have been established and supported by KEEP. The process includes 1) Improvement of existing product range , scaling up their volume of production and sale, development of new products using the existing range of NTFP and equipping and improving the infrastructure to meet the results of scaling up. 2) Including agricultural produce (Supporting small and marginal farmers) in to the product range. Developing value added products from the agricultural produce for marketing. 3) Developing craft skill- based income generation activities for people.
- Scale up ongoing activities - the livelihood program with tribal communities and include more tribal communities

- Include quality of existing product range and include more women and youth in processing, use and sale of these resources through community enterprise

- Add new NTFP species for livelihood & food security, with community participation

Project Characteristics and Results
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
50 booklets will be printed containing awareness materials on NTFP species, traditional sustainable methods of harvesting and use. 100 brochures consisting the product information will be prepared and distributed. Media coverage will be done as and when required.
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Knowledge base of the tribal communities will be used for imparting craft skills building. SHGs will be formed to empower youth and women in the tribal community living around the Kaundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, Chitoor District, and Andhra Pradesh.
