Demonstration and implementation of mechanism for mercury-vapor lamps neutralization in Lugansk region
The main objective of the project is to demonstrate the model for mercury-vapor lamps utilization in Lugansk region by establishing a mechanism for the collection of used mercury-vapor lamps in budgetary institutions and organizations. The project is going to achieve its objective by implementation of the following activities: - establish an enterprise on neutralization and recycling of mercury-vapor lamps; - develop a system to monitor the use of energy-efficient lamps; - construct special places for mercury-vapor lamps collection in institutions and organizations of the cities; - conduct a seminar on importance of mercury-vapor lamps neutralization system; - carry out trainings to disseminate information on importance of mercury-vapor lamps collection and utilization.

Project sustainability
The project?s system of lamp utilization will have a range of environmental benefits for Luhansk region, helping prevent pollution and contributing to public health. The project also trained local residents to consciously manage their waste, especially when the waste is hazardous and spread this experience among other community members.
