Integrated community forestry management project
The Jakoi Sibrick village?s forest is classified under the community forestry policy control and managed by the Village particularly the VDC of the Village. The 1 502 villagers in Jakoi Sibrick were the target beneficiaries of this project. This target population are poor communities, consisting mostly of small scale subsistence farmers. By conserving their forest, the communities will be in a better position t implement income generating activities such as bee keeping as well as increase the availability of forest produce and products for their domestic uses.

Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The bee keeping component is designed to be source of income for the community. part of the income generated will be deposited in a savings account to be used for further investments in forest conservation. A central nursery with different tree species has also been established and the sales of the seedlings would be another steady source of income for the community.
Capacity - Building Component
The beneficiary community is faced with inadequate skills and lack of finance and produce market outlets. Thus the beekeeping training component is geared to mitigating these factors .
